Pepkor is a South African based investment holding company with retail interests in Africa, Australia and Eastern Europe. The group, established in 1965, manages a portfolio of retail chains focused on the value market and selling predominantly clothing, footwear, textiles and hard lines. Its main operating subsidiaries are Pep and Ackermans in South Africa, Best & Less in Australia and Pepco in Poland. The group trades from more than 4,000 stores and employs close to 38,000 people, with annual sales close to USD 4 billion.

On 1 July 2012, Pepkor formed a global sourcing business unit, Pepkor Global Sourcing (PGS) which is the Pepkor Group’s sourcing office that provides a strategic sourcing service to all retailers within the group. Its mission is to create value for all Pepkor retailers by leveraging their aggregated buying needs and providing them with strategic sourcing solutions.
Pepkor Global Sourcing (PGS) has offices in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Bangladesh and India with over 400 employees and growing. The majority of Pepkor Global Sourcing (PGS)’s activities and employees are based in Shanghai, China.
